Galina Agerd is a contemporary artist based in London whose work explores meditation, inner stillness, and the search for meaning within an increasingly distracted world. Born in Kazakhstan into a creative family, she was introduced to drawing at an early age by her father, a nationally recognised architect. After studying in Moscow and later completing postgraduate degrees in London, Agerd initially built a successful career in international finance before dedicating herself fully to art.
Over years of experimentation in her London studio, Agerd developed her distinctive “Flow” method, a process that combines poured paint, mixed media, and semi precious stones to create immersive, luminous compositions. Her paintings merge abstract cosmic forms with symbolic figurative imagery, drawing inspiration from artists such as Kandinsky and Miró while reflecting influences gathered through extensive travel and spiritual study.
Agerd’s work centres on reconnecting viewers with silence, reflection, and emotional presence. Through vibrant colour, layered textures, and dreamlike imagery, she creates paintings intended not simply to be observed, but experienced. Her compositions often evoke themes of transformation, healing, consciousness, and inner energy, offering what the artist describes as a “doorway” back to the self.
Her works are held in private collections across Europe and have been exhibited publicly in London, including at venues in Mayfair. Alongside her artistic practice, Agerd has supported charitable initiatives and teaches art to children with a focus on creativity, confidence, and self expression.
Wisdom of the Floating Mountains, is one of Agerd’s most notable works. The piece depicts an owl gliding above ethereal floating peaks as a symbol of intuition and wisdom. The symmetrical composition lulls viewers into a state of stillness, encouraging reflection beyond the restless “monkey mind” and toward deeper inner awareness. The floating mountains represent higher understanding and the quiet clarity that emerges when we reconnect with nature, intuition, and emotional balance.
