With his oeuvre, with an attitude of a flâneur and a story-teller, Yakutovych invites spectators to take a flight around the mythical city of Paris, encountering precious episodes and atmospheric scenes that seem to exist somewhere between the physical realm and that of magic. Yakutovych’s revealed hidden stories, born out of observation, dreams and personal preoccupations, are as delicate as visions and reflections we catch while looking into windows, crystal wine goblets, puddles and glass balls. They weave a tapestry of tradition and individual narrative, introducing a sort of an augmented tandem reality in the multiverse.
Yakutovych’s solo exhibitions of his graphic works took place at the Municipal Galleries of Gerona (Spain, 1997) and Arles-sur-Tech (France, 2000).
In 2003, the artist was awarded Noufflard prize of the Taylor Foundation and his artworks were on display at the Connoisseur’s Gallery in Paris the same year.
